Episode 3: The Starry Harp
Atop the Hill of Stars, Furnando discovered a vast, ancient hall. Moonlight filtered through a shattered ceiling, illuminating the dusty remains of what must once have been a grand chamber. In the center stood the Starry Harp, its silver strings catching glints of starlight.
As Furnando approached the harp, he noticed two towering golems carved from meteor-like stone. At first motionless, they rumbled to life when he stepped closer, blocking his path to the sacred instrument.
Without his voice, Furnando couldn’t rely on song to soothe the guardians. He recalled Lyria’s advice: “It’s not just the voice that sings; sometimes the soul sings in silence.” With Poleno’s glowing fire lighting the chamber, Furnando mimed strumming invisible notes, expressing his peaceful intentions and the love he held for music.
Confused but intrigued, the golems began to step aside. However, one stumbled, nearly crushing the harp. Furnando risked his own safety to push the golem’s arm away, saving the delicate instrument. Moved by his selflessness, the golems fully withdrew, granting him passage.
At last, Furnando reached the Starry Harp. The moment his furry fingers brushed its strings, they lit up with a gentle, celestial glow. A soft melody resonated through the hall, and Furnando’s voice returned—stronger, clearer, and more beautiful than ever. Overjoyed, he sang with abandon, while the golems settled back into their ancient watch.
Cradling the Starry Harp, Furnando stepped onto the open plateau outside. The stars above shone brighter than before, and Poleno darted around in excitement. Though he had achieved his goal, Furnando sensed that many more adventures awaited him in the Forest of Wonders.
